Hello New Steps Families
…IT’S SPRING TIME!!…
…And with Spring comes unpredictable weather so your child needs a few changes of clothing. Please label clothing to prevent mix-ups in children’s’ belongings that may be the same as their friends. Please include rain boots and splash pants so that they can be warm and dry inside and when they enjoy daily outdoor play. Just a reminder that outdoor play is a daily part of our program and if your child is in attendance they are healthy enough to benefit from outdoor play.
We provide a very active curriculum every day for your child and encourage you to bring your child early to participate in all the learning activities. Please arrive by 9 am to give your child the opportunity to take part in the full program. We request that if you will be absent or will be arriving after 9am please give our office a call to so that we are made aware if we need to put aside a lunch.
It is a Ministry and Health department requirement that we keep your child’s immunization updated record in our files. Please do keep us updated if there is any change of address, or contact numbers in case of illness or emergency.
We love reading at New Steps and invite you to be involved in your child’s literary journey. Please take advantage of Scholastic book orders that we send home with your child…the prices are great and reading
with our children is such a fun time to share stories and mentor literacy in their lives.
We celebrate our families at New Steps and children enjoy seeing their family photos on display in their classroom. Plus having a family photo can comfort an upset child. If you have not already provided a family photo please send one in a soon as possible.
Just for you: Please circle this date! Wednesday April 4th 6:00-7:00 pm. We are offering a Parenting information session at New Steps Childcare Centre. Melissa Wells: our resource consultant from PIRS (Peel Inclusion Resource Services) will be sharing her insights on childhood behavior and positive support strategies. Please RSVP to this session through your child’s teacher or by calling the office.
Just a reminder that we are closed on Good Friday March 30th and Monday April 2nd to observe Easter.
